What to paint once the paper is down
A room that wore pattern for years can feel bare in stark white. Fresh, slightly warm neutrals carry most of them, with one deeper color saved for a dining room.
A wall that just came out from under paper shows everything. A low sheen hides the skim coat and the old seam lines, while a shiny finish picks out every repair in raking light. That is why we lean flat or matte on freshly repaired walls.

Seams lifting at the edges

Yellowing, stains, or soft spots
