Wall colors that sit well over a coated floor
Floor systems come in their own grays and flake blends, so these are not floor colors. They are wall and trim colors that suit a gray or flake floor.
Choose the floor first. A solid gray floor reads cool, so a soft white or a light warm gray on the walls keeps the room from feeling like a parking deck. A flake blend already carries several tones, so pick a wall color that matches the lightest flake and let the floor do the work.
Garages are lit by bare bulbs and an open door. Light walls bounce that light around and make tools easier to find. Save the dark color for the garage door or a single accent wall, where scuffs and fingerprints are less of a problem.
